Amplifying Muslim women engagement through collaboration, advocacy and research.
Our Team
A TEam with no boundaries
We’re scattered throughout the U.S. but aligned on a clear mission: bringing equitable healthcare to all Muslim women.
We met at school, and we meet on video conferences. With years of combined work in medicine and health, we’ve studied and worked at top health institutions.

FAQ
-
Yes, we are a registered 501(c)3 in the United States.
-
MWHO began as a passion project for our founder Layla Al-Zubi during her time at the National Institues of Health as a Health Disparities fellow. She saw a lack of literature on Muslim health in the US, specifically Muslim women. She reached out and connected to a network of Muslim women in healthcare in the US. Together, they transformed, consolidated, and uplifted Muslim Womens Health Organization.
